Polyester films

We not only process polyamides, but also produce films made of thermoplastic polyester (polybutylene terephthalate = PBT). This is a different class of technical, semi-crystalline thermoplastics. Compared to PA 6, CPBT films primarily offer improved heat resistance due to the higher crystalline melting point.

PBT also contains almost no residual monomer and does not store any moisture in the molecule, which results in excellent dimensional stability in connection with a higher modulus of elasticity. As a result, these films are stiffer, more dimensionally stable and more heat-stable than standard PA films, which opens up new application possibilities for these films. They are particularly suitable for packaging in the medical sector, which is where they are now mainly used.
